Press Release
Unconventional London Tour
Charleston, SC October 8, 2009 – Denise LeCroy will lead a small-group tea-themed tour from the United States to London, England September 13-18, 2010.
"When I realized that London's rich tea history was being virtually neglected by the travel industry, I started Tea in London tours. It's about so much more than just having Afternoon Tea in England's capital city," says LeCroy, founder of Tea in London. LeCroy is a tea educator and London Destination Specialist who wants to share her two passions - tea and London – with the world.
During her years living and working in London (her husband is English), Denise searched out its best tea-related attractions. Residing in the United States now, she continues to discover new and exciting tea experiences to include on her tours. "If one digs deep enough, it is possible to find a tea connection to almost anything in and around London," says LeCroy.
Tea in London holidays are short, small group tea-themed trips that focus not only on the wonderful English ritual of tea, but also on London's fascinating tea history. Itineraries include Afternoon Tea at a variety of traditional and non-traditional venues together with a combination of other unique activities that include, among other things, a guided walk through areas in London where the tea trade once ruled England's commerce; visits to museums and galleries to discover old and new tea treasures; and journeys to gardens and ancestral homes of early English tea drinkers. The 2010 tour includes an optional one-day Tea Masterclass with tea expert Jane Pettigrew under the auspices of the UK Tea Council.
LeCroy points out that Tea in London is not strictly for tea lovers. Travelers are encouraged to bring along their special someone, for the tour encounters many of London's famous places and landmarks. LeCroy adds, "Time for shopping is always included on the itinerary, as well as a free day to privately experience London on your own."
The next Tea in London tour is scheduled for September 13-18, 2010. Visit their website www.TeaInLondon.com for more information and to secure a reservation. Register early as seats fill quickly and are on a first come, first served basis.
Coupled with her tea and travel expertise, Denise's penchant for detail and highly tuned organizational skills make her tours fun, educational, relaxing – and one of a kind.
Make 2010 the year you have Tea in London.
